Tacoma Country and Golf Club is set to host the 2027 US Senior Women’s Open and the 2024 Pacific Northwest Women’s Amateur. TCGC hosted the 1961 U.S. Women’s Amateur, 1984 U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur, 1994 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur, 2007 U.S. Girls’ Junior, 11 PNGA Amateur Championships, 3 Washington Men’s Amateurs, and numerous USGA championship qualifiers including Final Qualifying for the 2017 U.S. Open

Position Summary
The Second Assistant will partner with the Superintendent and First Assistant to direct and coordinate golf course maintenance activities, such as maintaining quality course conditions, developing (training) and retaining employees. The Second Assistant may serve in the First Assistant’s capacity in the event of their absence.
Primary Responsibilities include the following: (other duties may be assigned)
- Effectively lead staff to ensure a quality product. Follow up with staff continually to ensure tasks are being completed in a timely manner and to the Club’s Standards.
- Evaluate and assess equipment management, operation and set up.
- Maintain daily course set up to the Club’s Standards.
- Maintain communication between staff and Golf Shop.
- Proactively identify and correct problems that arise on property
Candidate Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum High School Graduation
- Weekends/holidays
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
- Basic Turf Care Maintenance background (sprayers, chemicals, understanding of irrigation and components)
- Understand the game of golf
- Ability to supervise multiple employees
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, 40+ hour weekly, with benefits including:

Position Summary
Provide bag, golf cart, and range service to members and their guests
Position Core Duties
Meet and greet members and their guests at the bag drop location and golf shop
Wash & prepare golf carts for daily usage; park in staging area, check for safety issues
Load bags from storage room onto carts
Drive range attendant and practice ball retrieval; operate ball picker on range, wash range balls
Clean and properly store golf clubs/bags in assigned location in bag storage room
Return golf carts to cart storage after removing all debris from inside and checking for damage
Store all lost and found items from carts/around the course in central location
Maintain cleanliness and order in the bag room
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Golf Professionals/Head Professional
Maintain professional communication on walkie-talkies at all times, and keep open communication between team members
Cleaning tasks around the golf shop
Requirements
Candidate Qualifications & Requirements
Valid Drivers License
Must be able to lift 25lbs
Must be able to stand for 4+ hours
Knowledgeable about Golf Course etiquette and rules of the game
Hours vary based on business levels, must be flexible with scheduling (Mornings, days, evenings, weekdays and weekends)
20-25 hours/week

Position Summary
The Golf Course Greenskeeper is responsible for the maintenance of the golf course, including fairways, greens, and other areas.
Primary Responsibilities include the following: (other duties may be assigned)
- Mowing and edging
- Lay sod, plant trees, seeding turf
- Trimming of trees and shrubbery as needed
- Maintaining bunkser/sandtraps: Raking, clearing debris, and leaves as needed
- Assist in changing holes
- Repairing/filling divots on greens, tees, and fairways and repairing other course damage
- Perform manual irrigation
- Assist in aerifying greens, tees, fairways, and roughs as assigned
- Clean restrooms and stock paper items
- Reporting equipment problems and major maintenance needs
- Communicate effectively with supervisor and coworkers in all job-related problems.
- Comply with all safety and health policies and procedures.
- If candidate possesses the correct skills: would be responsible for the upkeep and refueling of the golf course maintenance equipment fleet.

Restaurant Host and Busser

Tacoma Country & Golf Club (TCGC) operates a banquet kitchen and a full service, member-only restaurant. Throughout the property there are many banquet rooms and facilities used for events. We offer a fun, energetic and welcoming culture here at the Club which helps create and maintain relationships with our members and their guests. Tacoma Country & Golf Club has a very active membership in the summer months with business levels thinning out in the Winter months as the membership heads south. The food quality here at TCGC is one of our focal points and the membership is quick to comment on their love of the restaurant and level of service we extend to them! Our Executive Chef has been with the Club for 15 years, loves to fish, and is active in changing the weekly specials and menus to reflect the seasons.
Position Summary
The busser is responsible for setting and clearing tables in the restaurant and ensuring a clean and tidy environment for restaurants patrons and other team members.
The hostess is responsible for the first and last impression of the Club for Members and their guests. They are to make sure that Members and guests feel welcomed, cared for an valued. The hostess is expected to keep the restaurant seated in a timely and orderly fashion.
Busser Position Responsibilities, Tasks and Duties
- Prepare dining areas before guests are seated
- Place tableware and condiments on table
- Serve water and bread upon arrival, refill water for the duration of members stay
- Remove dirty dishes, utensils, glassware and replenish as necessary
- Clean and reset tables after guests departure
Host Position Responsibilities, Tasks and Duties
- Greet members/guests upon arrival
- Seat members/guests accordingly, presenting them with the current members
- Answer phones and transfer as needed, take messages
- Take to-go orders, input into POS, and assist in boxing and delivering to members
- Assist members with booking reservations
- Clean menus as needed
- Assist servers and bussers with polishing glassware, silverware, and other tasks as needed
- Thank members/guests upon departure
Requirements
Candidate Requirements and Qualifications
- No restaurant experience required
- Possess an outgoing, friendly, professional personality
- Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm and professional
- Highly energetic, self-starter, hands-on approach to hospitality/service with the ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast paced, event-driven environment
- Able to provide excellent communication skills at all levels. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
- Pierce County issued Food Handlers Permit, or ServSafe certified Required
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
