Banquet/Busser Staff

Banquet Staff Position Summary

Set up and clean banquet rooms and serve banquets.


Responsibilities

  • Performs related banquet (dining room) set-up tasks
  • Provides immediate attention to all guests upon seating
  • Takes beverage order and serves food in specified station
  • Pours and refills wine, coffee, water and/or other beverages served with and after the meal
  • Clears soiled dishes as needed
  • Cleans all assigned work areas in kitchen and dining room
  • Advises supervisor of any member/guest complaints as soon as they occur
  • Assists in closing functions by performing various tasks such as removing linen, busing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc., and re-setting the room
  • Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor

 

Busser Position Summary 

The busser is responsible for setting and clearing tables in the restaurant and ensuring a clean and tidy environment for restaurants patrons and other team members.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare dining areas before guests are seated
  • Place tableware and condiments on table
  • Serve water and bread upon arrival, refill water for the duration of members stay
  • Remove dirty dishes, utensils, glassware and replenish as necessary
  • Clean and reset tables after guests departure

 

Banquet/Busser service experience a plus, BUT NOT REQUIRED
No restaurant experience required

Position Summary

Tacoma Country and Golf Club (TCGC) is seeking to add a talented, dedicated Snack Bar Attendant to our team. We are looking for someone who is hardworking, experienced, and dependable. The Snack Bar Attendant position is integral in ensuring smooth service to our membership while on the Golf Course and during events. We want you to join our team! At TCGC, we offer an exceptional work atmosphere that will allow you to expand your hospitality skills and create lasting relationships.

The Snack Bar Attendant Position is part-time. Sunday availability is required.

Position Responsibilities, Tasks and Duties

  • Setting up and breaking down the Snack Bar line with drinks and food necessary for shift, safely securing all products including cash bank, keys, and alcoholic beverages.
  • Stock and inventory daily, and report to Clubhouse Manager when supplies need to be ordered.
  • Greet members promptly by name and make introductions with guests. Maintain a polite & friendly manner.
  • Prepare and serve FOOD and BEVERAGE ITEMS
  • Input all orders into Jonas Point-Of-Sale system.
  • Clean snack bar area at the culmination of each shift.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Candidate Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Short order cooking experience a must.

  • MAST 12 certified Required

Line Cook/ Prep Cook 

Tacoma Country and Golf Club (TCGC) is seeking to add a talented, dedicated line/prep cook to our team. We are looking for someone who is hardworking, experienced, and dependable. The line/prep cook position is integral in ensuring smooth service to our membership.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Setting up and breaking down cook station properly for each shift

· Prepare all food items in a timely manner while coordinating with other stations (Grilling, frying, sauteing, as well as other methods)

· Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.

· Restock, clean, maintain cook station items as needed throughout the shift.

· Assist with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.

· Adhere to proper food storage procedures compliant with the health department (Food Handler’s Card Required)

Position Summary
Tacoma County and Golf Club Lifeguards monitor pool and lake activities and always ensure member safety. Lifeguards shall possess knowledge of rescue procedures and emergency medical procedures. Must have CPR and First Aid Certification. Lifeguards will prepare the pool for use and continue maintenance throughout the shift.

Position Core Duties

  • Maintain surveillance of all patrons in pool, kiddie pool, jacuzzi, and lakefront/dock area.
  • Act immediately and appropriately during the event of an emergency to provide safety to all patrons.

Position Summary
The Head Lifeguard provides lead supervision for Lifeguards, monitors activities at pool, and functions as a Lifeguard.  Participates in the selection, scheduling, and assigning of Lifeguard duties.  Gives instructions in pool operating procedures, rules, safety practices, maintenance, and related matters.  Conducts safety checks of facility and coordinates maintenance and repairs. Leads and organizes events at the pool in partnership with the Clubhouse Manager.
 

Position Core Duties

· Supervises the Lifeguards. Plans, implements, and supervises all aquatic activities and opportunities for members and guests.

· Assists with hiring, training, and supervising performance of aquatics staff. 

· Provide necessary orientation and training for aquatics staff.

· Formulates weekly work schedules, reviews and approves employee timesheets. 

· Establishes systems and methods for training, motivating, and supervising the team and creates a system of communication.

· Evaluate programs’ activities and identify areas for opportunities and improvements.

· Supervise pool registration desk to ensure the correct charges for guests.

· Coordinate facility rentals with Clubhouse Manager

· Organize and delegate day-to-day operations.

· Coordinate with Aquatic Manager on who will attend weekly Leadership meetings to discuss aquatic activities. (One of the following required each week: Aquatic Manager, Head Lifeguard, Swim Team Coach/Lead Instructor.)

· Enforce Club rules of safety and conduct.

· Maintain all Lifeguard Certification records and ensure Human Resources has updated copies of each. 

· Conduct daily safety training with lifeguards at the beginning of each shift. 

· Represent the Club in activities as required.

· Alert General Manager/Aquatic Manager to any problems or issues with Members and their guests.

· Conducts pool opening and closing tasks at the beginning and end of season.

Position Summary
This position is responsible for all swim instruction and swim instruction lifeguards including group and private lessons. This includes the planning, scheduling, and implementation of the summer swim program. This position is also responsible for coaching the Hammerheads Swim Team.
 

Position Core Duties

· Instruct group and private lessons for swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety rules to participants with varying swimming abilities.

· Educate participants on rules of the facility.

· Train and supervise instruction lifeguards and delegate tasks to each.

· Evaluate participants swimming abilities and determine correct swim level.

· Complete necessary planning and paperwork for swim lessons prior to season.

· Create an educational, safe, and inviting experience for participants.

· Creates billing list of swim lessons (Group and Private) and submits to Accounts Receivable for processing by timeline dates. Swim lessons at culmination of session. Private lessons submitted during payroll period in which they took place.

· Coaches swim team: Plan, oversee, and instruct practices/workouts and swim meets

· Organizes all aspects of swim meets including, but not limited to, scheduling individual race participants, recording, posting start times, distributing race ribbons, and coordinating swim meet volunteers.

· Work with the Clubhouse Manager on Food & Beverage needs for swim meets.

· Maintains presence during swim team events, maintains swim team and event equipment.

· Orders select swim wear for swim team

· Performs other tasks assigned by Aquatic Manager

JOB STRUCTURE

Job Title

The title of this position is Controller

Org Chart and Interactions

The Controller position is within the Administration department of Tacoma Country and Golf Club Country Club. The position reports directly to the General Manager who will be responsible for scheduling, supervising, developing, and managing the position’s performance. In addition to the General Manager, the Controller regularly interacts with the Club President, Finance Committee, Finance Committee Chair, Club Treasurer, Executive Committee and club’s accounting firm. The position has up to two direct reports. The Controller is part of the Leadership Team that includes the General Manager, PGA Head Golf Professional, Superintendent, Member Relations, Facilities, Executive Chef, Human Resources and Clubhouse Manager. 

FLSA Classification

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act, this position is classified as Full Time/Regular/Exempt.

Salary and Benefits

The salary and benefits for this position include: 

· Annual Salary  $125,000-140,000; based on experience and certifications (reviewed annually on anniversary date)

· Health Insurance  Health insurance premium paid for self and family (medical, dental, vision) + supplemental life and long-term disability insurance for you (subject to change under market conditions)

· Certification Bonus $5,000 bonus paid upon successful attainment of the CHAE designation

Approximate Work Schedule

This position typically works five days per week and 8 to 10 hours per day. The typical work week is Monday through Friday. The days and length of shift are approximations as our work responds to the needs of member events and business flows. From time to time, this position requires evening, weekend and holiday work as needed to accomplish essential duties and responsibilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

A private country club is a unique environment that contains several micro-environments and working conditions. It is important to know that the following conditions may be encountered:

  • Sitting at computer workstation for potentially long periods of time

  • Certified Hospitality Accounting Executive or Certified Public Accountant certifications preferred, but not required
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or accumulated accounting experience as a Controller
  • Applied knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Experience working with and supervising/managing/leading bookkeeping staff including payroll, AP, and AR

JOB SUMMARY & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This position constantly evolves, and these duties, tasks and responsibilities may be adjusted from time to time according to business needs and your growing capabilities. In addition to the customary roles of accounting, finance, and Technology it is important to realize that this position is integral to the club’s brand as a world-class club, and as such, some nontraditional roles, responsibilities, tasks and duties are required.

In summary, the Controller/IT Director:

  • Establishes, directs, and administers the  accounting, finance, and information technology functions of the club
  • Supervises the accounting functions and  directly assists the General Manager on all strategic matters relating to budget management, cost-benefit analysis, forecasting needs and internal control
  • Develops policies to control and coordinate  accounting, auditing, budgets, taxes and related activities and records
  • Develops, establishes, and administers procedures and systems pertaining to financial matters
  • Prepares financial statements, forecasts, and analyses for all administrative and managerial functions
  • Maintains all accounting records
  • Develops, analyzes, and interprets statistical and accounting information
  • Evaluates operating results for costs, revenues, budgets, policies of operation, trends, and increased profit possibilities
  • Serves as liaison to relevant committees.

TYPICAL TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directs and prepares the monthly trial balance and resulting financial statements for the club, including the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows, along with required supporting schedules and other data necessary for financial reports  and records
  • Develop policies and written controls to  coordinate accounting, financing, auditing, budgets, taxes, and related  activities and records
  • Safeguards all funds in bank accounts; assures that revenues are properly and correctly deposited and supervises the drawing of all checks
  • Prepares financial statements, forecasts, and analyses for all administrative and managerial functions
  • Anticipates unfavorable financial results  or variances; conducts research and is prepared to offer preliminary explanations and appropriate counter measures
  • Compares relevant data, such as YTD results  versus budget or current year versus previous year, to identify issues or trends as soon as possible
  • Develops, analyzes and interprets  statistical and accounting information
  • Prepares operating budgets and financial  forecasts in coordination with the various committees, departments, and  general manager; analyzes financial information, monitors budgeted versus  actual expenditures and advises management about variances and their potential causes; recommends corrective actions to help assure that budget goals are met.
  • Completes member billing and collection procedures
  • Oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable, daily cash handling procedures, reconciles and audits safe and  petty cash
  • Completes membership account adjustments
  • Completes monthly bank balance  reconciliation
  • Audits all cash and charge expenditures
  • Compiles, approves, and maintains credit  applications for vendors
  • Verifies the taking of inventories for beverages, food, supplies, equipment, furnishings, and other club assets
  • Monitors to assure that procedures for effective receiving and storeroom controls are in place and consistently used
  • Prepares or supervises preparation of  applicable federal, state, and local tax returns
  • Maintains fixed asset ledgers, asset reserve study, and prepares depreciation schedules for monthly entries
  • Manages and conducts internal auditing programs to assure that records are accurately maintained and that  established policies and practices are satisfactorily and consistently  followed.
  • Works with the club’s external auditors to  generate audited and/or reviewed financial statements
  • Manages human resources program including  payroll, benefits administration, and performance management systems
  • Negotiates and administers employee benefits including health and life insurance, pension plans and workers’      compensation; gathers information and assists the general manager in making decisions about employee benefit plans.
  • Negotiates and acquires property and casualty, director and officer, and employment practices liability insurance to protect the club’s assets
  • Maintains investment program; invests all excess funds on a timely basis to provide better cash flow; ability to analyze investment returns.
  • Completes payroll data entry, payroll  taxes, pay and file reports along with quarterly payroll reports and  annual reports
  • Develops, analyzes, and interprets statistical and accounting information
  • Evaluates operating results in terms of costs, revenues, budgets, policies of operation, trends, and increased profit possibilities
  • Supervises the staffing, scheduling, training, and professional development of department members
  • Maintains the club’s databases
  • Plans  and implements strategies to meet club financial goals
  • Manages all AP to adhere to club policy
  • Actively monitors all Club contracts,  leases, and agreements to be prepared to make recommendations to the General Manager for potential cost saving measures upon renewal dates
  • Serves  on applicable club committees to assure members’ interests are  consistently addressed and clear lines of communication and information  are maintained; generates meeting minutes of Finance committee; prepares monthly report for meetings working with committee chairs
  • Attends   weekly Leadership Team meetings
  • Effectively  responds to member comments in accordance with club standards, policies, and rules
  • Uses  ideas, feedback, and suggestions to continuously improve the services  provided to members
  • Develops  and adheres to the operations and capital budgets; after approval,  monitors and takes corrective action as necessary to help assure that  budget goals are attained
  • Surveys  other clubs for financial and Department of Revenue information by April 1  of each year
  • Ensure  Annual Licenses are up to date and follow all state and federal mandates.
  • Manages  aged receivables account administration including collection follow-up per club policy
  • Manages the  club’s retirement and benefit plans and assists general manager in negotiating all insurance contracts
  • Manages information technology, network security, computer systems and networks,  all software solutions and applications, and interfaces with contracted IT  partners
  • Stays updated  on government laws, policies, and programs relevant to club operations
  • Serves  as Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed
  • Completes other appropriate assignments as  required by the general manager and manages assigned projects as they      relate to the department and club’s need

Position Summary
The Second Assistant will partner with the Superintendent and First Assistant to direct and coordinate golf course maintenance activities, such as maintaining quality course conditions, developing (training) and retaining employees. The Second Assistant may serve in the First Assistant’s capacity in the event of their absence.  

Primary Responsibilities include the following: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Effectively lead staff to ensure a quality product. Follow up with staff continually to ensure tasks are being completed in a timely manner and to the Club’s Standards.
  • Evaluate and assess equipment management, operation and set up.
  • Maintain daily course set up to the Club’s Standards.
  • Maintain communication between staff and Golf Shop.
  • Proactively identify and correct problems that arise on property

 

Candidate Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Graduation
  • Weekends/holidays
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Basic Turf Care Maintenance background (sprayers, chemicals, understanding of irrigation and components)
  • Understand the game of golf
